ADR Medication Sensitivity Risk Testing Pharmacogenetic Testing

Pharmacogenomics (Pharmacogenetics): "Worth Taking A Look At," Katie Couric

Katie Couric perfectly explains the value and importance of Pharmacogenomic testing in this 1-minute clip from CBS News back in 2007! This just goes to show, that Pharmacogenomics has been around for many years; but still hasn't been brought to the market!

Preventative Health Partnerships knows that prescribing medication can be an inexact science.  Katie Couric advocates pharmacogenomics, the study of how genes affect your body's response to drugs, for saving money and lives.

Could you imagine a physician flatly refusing free help when it comes to keeping you safer?   Neither can we.
Especially while thousands of other esteemed physicians ~ from Internal Medicine Physicians to Cardiologists, Endocrinologists, Oncologists, Urologists, Rheumatologists,  Kidney Specialists,  Gastro Intestinal Physicians, Neurologists, Orthopedic Surgeons,  Psychiatrists, Obstetric and Gynecologists, Pain Management Specialists... ~ These experts, all swear by this test's validity and medical necessity.

Fortunately, only a handful of physicians unaware of the inarguable science and value behind pharmacogenetic testing have dismissed our proven lifesaving test without ever considering its possibilities.

Baffles the mind to think that any rational doctor who answers emphatically,  "No,  I am not having 100% success rate with the medications I prescribe to my patients. -OR-  "No,  I can't possibly tell how any of my patients metabolize the meds I prescribe."  -OR-  "No,  I am not currently providing any medication sensitivity testing whatsoever"  -- would flatly refuse a test which provides them with more answers tomorrow than they had yesterday. ~ And without giving it any consideration at all.

We're humbled and consistently encouraged by the thousands of physicians who say, "I had no idea what pharmacogenetics was, but after seeing the reports, I am fascinated and if it helps protects my patients how could I refuse you ~ When can you begin testing?"

According to U.S. Food and Drug Administration statistics, over two million adverse drug events occur annually.  Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR’s) are the nation’s 4th leading cause of death, with over 100,000 per year. They also comprise 770,000 avoidable hospital admissions, annually.  In addition to ADR’s, patient compliance and interactive drug efficacy are prime factors that you consider daily.
Our Personalized Medicine Panel provides your physician with valuable information to help determine if you are at risk for an adverse drug reaction.

How Can Preventative Health Partnership's Personalized Medicine Panel Help My Physician Help Me?

Just like your hair or eye color, how quickly you metabolize medication is determined by your genetics.  And your genes don't change.  So you only need to take this test once in a lifetime.  Your genetic profile can help a prescriber adjust a drug dose or type of drug to:

• Help prevent harmful side effects and adverse drug reactions.
• Help your medications be more effective.
• Help ensure that you are taking the correct
medication.

Our Personalized Medicine Panel can provide valuable information to your physician for your current and future medical treatment.

This test is not just about today~ its about tomorrow ~ its about protecting you from the unexpected and the unknown!

Why Should I Be Tested?

According to U.S. Food and Drug Administration statistics, over two million adverse drug events occur annually.  Certain drugs now include warnings regarding metabolizer ability in the packaging.

There isn't a patient in the world that wouldn't be thrilled to know their doctor (who took an oath to 'Do No Harm')  isn't rolling the dice when it comes to their life  –   Every patient wants a doctor that would never say no to an opportunity to possibly save their life.

None of us ever wants to think that our doctors traditionally have to guess concerning which medications belong in our bodies -vs- which ones don't ~ based on our disposition to metabolize our medications. We know this because we've tested more than 20,000 patients in just the past 12 months.

Patients want their doctors to know on the first attempt if a medication will work.

Countless patients tell us how thankful they are that their doctor now knows with absolute certainty that the dosage they've prescribed is not too much and not too little -- That the dosage is JUST RIGHT!  What doctor wouldn't want to know with certainty -- that they are positively 'Doing No Harm?'   Don't you want ALL of your doctors to know the answers to those critical questions?

Our goal is for you to speak up and invite us provide the answers for your doctor.

We've discovered that doctors are fascinated by Pharmacogenetics. They're just so busy with patient loads daily. And they don't want to incur the costs for the test. And doctors are very busy caring for their patients -- They care about you -- But, they have to be mindful of their time and prioritize -- They just don't have time to read a long report.

Luckily, we've addressed all of those concerns and come up with the solutions to all of those barriers.

Request a Q & A with one of our counselors. If you do not have a physician that is willing, we will recommend a highly accredited, caring physician your area who has already staffed our Superheroes to perform the swab for you. *

Just a 15 second swab of your mouth could mean the difference between life and death -- Don't you want your doctors to have the answers in all of their files on you? The doctors who care for you now -- as well as other doctors you haven't met yet -- who will practice on your behalf and prescribe you medications -- as you age, well into the future?;

Pharmacogenetics relates to testing patients for medication sensitivity and is the essence of do no harm medicine.  It has been further defined as “Personalized Medicine” or “Precision Dosing”.   ONE TEST – Provides answers to medication based on your patient’s unique individualized genetic predisposition to metabolize.

After Allowing Our Medical Technicians The Opportunity To Swab Their Patients ~ Our Physicians Tell Us Having This Test Performed That They Are Grateful -- And The Pharmacogenetics Is Not An Arguable Science.

The Personalized Medicine Panel provides your physician with valuable information to help determine if you are at risk for an adverse drug event.

How Is The Test Performed?

Your healthcare provider will collect a sample from you by simply rubbing a swab inside each cheek. No blood draw is necessary. Your sample is then sent to our client's laboratory where it is processed and your test results are sent to your physician -- personally prepared by a Pharmacologist.

When will my physician receive my results?
Preventative Health Partnerships Techs facilitate provision of results within three to five days from receipt of test order from an authorized medical provider, patient information and sample.

How Do I Order A Copy Of My Test Results?

All tests results are sent to the ordering physician directly. It is important that you discuss your results with your physician and follow their instructions. The The Personalized Medicine Panel provides your physician with valuable information to help determine if you are at risk for an adverse drug event.

Is The Personalized Medicine Panel Covered By Insurance?

If not, how much will I have to pay?

MEDICARE
Up until January 2015 all tests were fully-covered by Medicare.
Currently patients being prescribed Psychiatric and Cardiology meds are consistently covered by Medicare.

Medicare continues to pay based on other scenarios based on medical neccessity --   If that is not the case, an insured patient will be billed the deductible or co-pay amount for their insurance policy. The great news is we do not balance bill.

PRIVATE INSURANCE/ COMMERCIAL INSURANCE
Many private/commercial health insurance providers pay for this test in full with a zero deductible and zero co-pay.

If insurance is not available or applicable, a patient can be billed as a cash patient once.  Our labs are  soft billers -- They bill only once.  And our labs will never balance bill or report any patient to a collection agency.   Discounted rates may apply for cash payments.

Patients can make payment arrangements. Patients can also opt out at any time -- incurring no costs.

MEDICAID
There are some states covering this test for Medicaid patients -- including: Missouri,  Georgia and a  half dozen others!

How much is it worth to you to know which medications could kill you -- and prevent them from ever making their way onto your physician's prescription pad ~or~ into your body when admitted to an emergency room as an incapacitated patient?  Wouldn't it be wonderful to have such preventative insights in your files ~ available for all of your caregivers to see!

Whether your carrier covers this test 100% or 90% or not at all  -- who will you blame if you're given the wrong medication now that you know this tests exists and most co-pays are no higher than $100 for this lifesaving one-time test.
And we DO NOT balance bill.  We DO NOT report to any collection agencies.

Why should my physician choose this Personalized Medicine Panel?

Our lab uses the latest technology to provide the most rapid, accurate results to physicians, allowing them to personalize your drug therapy.  And your physician can interpret the report in seconds. So they are not distracted from other important work.

Are the labs used accredited laboratories?

Yes.  Our client's labs are registered healthcare provider and follows all regulations governing healthcare providers and private healthcare information.  The laboratories we use are accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and certified by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA).
